In this role you will play a key part in providing support to our supportive individuals across Dunfermline, Rosyth, Inverkeithing and Cairneyhill areas.
Within the Rosyth Service there is a diverse range of support needs and our staff provide guidance to individuals, from children to elderly adults, from 24/7 care to just a few hours of support each week and everything in between. The support we provide to children is largely activity based and for respite purposes. For the adults, the support involves promoting independent living by assisting with everyday activities such as cooking, housework, financial assistance and participating in social activities. Providing emotional support, assisting with personal care and administering medication is also all part of the working day.
Within the Dunfermline Service support and guidance is provided to adults including young adults with varying support needs. The support provided within this service is all 24 hour support where we assist individuals to maintain tenancy. The support we provide can include household chores, financial assisanace, appointment support, social activities as well as personal care and administering medication. Within the service we do support individuals both physically and mentally, and with this it does bring its own challenges, however training and support is provided.
Whilst the role can be challenging, it offers excellent job satisfaction due to the value of the support you provide. Our role is to support and develop these individuals to allow them to live as independently as possible within the community.
The service and support we provide is person centred support which is co-produced with the individuals ensuring their needs, choices, goals and aspirations are valued.
The people we support, like us all, can have days where they are not as happy and up for the fun things in life. These are the days when they probably need us and the great support we provide, the most. Great support knows what to do at any given time but we will always help you with this so you know how to respond in any given situation.
