JOB OVERVIEW - PART TIME - TEMPORARY CONTRACT COVERING MATERNITY LEAVE

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Swim Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for swimming and a commitment to educating individuals of all ages in water safety and swimming techniques. As a Swim Instructor, you will play a vital role in fostering a positive learning environment, ensuring that each participant develops their skills and confidence in the water.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in sports coaching or teaching swimming is essential.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to educate effectively.
  • Certification in lifeguarding and first aid is essential.
  • A passion for swimming and a commitment to promoting water safety.
  • Must be patient, encouraging, and able to motivate pupils of varying skill levels.
  • STA (Level 2) / ASA (Level 2)
  • National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers & Coaches (NRASTC)*
    *Inc. Lifeguard Qualification
    *Inc. First Aid Qualification
    *Not including NRASTC Light Qualification

    This job description outlines the main duties and responsibilities of the position and is designed for the benefit of both the post holder and Twycross House Pre-Preparatory School in understanding the prime functions of the post. Responsibilities
  • Conduct swim lessons for individuals and groups, tailoring instruction to meet the needs of each participant.
  • Educate students on water safety practices and proper swimming techniques.
  • Develop lesson plans that incorporate various swimming styles and skills progression.
  • Monitor students’ progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their abilities.
  • Maintain a safe and organised pool environment, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with pupils and their Class Teachers regarding progress and any concerns.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance coaching skills.
