An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and suitably experienced physiotherapist to join the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Department at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Trust as a Clinical Team Leader.
This dynamic role divides a high percentage of clinical work with the day-to-day operational management of the MSK physiotherapy service at the Countess of Chester Hospital. As the MSK Team Leader, you will be line managing, co-ordinating and supervising physiotherapists and therapy assistants with responsibility for meeting our governance requirements, including appraisal, clinical competencies, recruitment, and attendance management. We have a band 5 Preceptorship programme, and with the support of our Practice Development Therapist, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Band 5 staff in your team are fully supported in meeting their goals. You will also ensure that referrals are triaged in a timely and safe manner, that caseloads are effectively managed, and that the team maintains the focus on delivery of excellence in patient-focused care. As part of the Joint Therapy Services team, you will work in collaboration with the primary care MSK Team Leaders and Lead MSK Therapist to identify service development opportunities through audit and QI projects.
The clinical content of the role will broadly include a mixed physiotherapy caseload to meet the department needs, but which will include leading on the staff self-referral clinic, and oversight of our Fracture and Soft Tissue Injury clinics. We can offer opportunities to develop through working alongside our Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners, including a role in the arthroplasty post operative review clinics.
The successful candidate will therefore be required to demonstrate excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, the ability to work both independently and as part of a team and be well organised and comfortable with managing change. Evidence of level 7 post graduate study would also be expected.
