Description:

The Team Leader position plays a pivotal role in the delivery of the warehouse function within our Coventry Warehouse. As a Team Leader you will ensure the smooth running of an operational area whilst adhering to safe working practices within our FMCG environment. The role will be reporting directly to the Senior Team Leader and you will be responsible for a team of operatives up to 40 in peak times. You will need to work well within a team environment whilst offering leadership, team management and surpassing KPI targets.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead a team, of up to 40 colleagues, ensuring they are well motivated and engaged in the workplace and performing to company standards.
  • Proactively contribute to health and safety onsite, ensuring that all safe working methods are followed, and accidents / incidents are reported and comprehensive investigations are carried out.
  • Effective allocation of work and resources. Planning to meet demand during peak periods, ensuring holidays are kept within set limits.
  • Carry out regular briefings with your team and develop and maintain solid working relationships in your team and across other departments
  • Continuous improvements of processes to create efficiencies within the department
  • Maintain good levels of housekeeping in working areas
  • Liaise with the training team to ensure that all colleagues are full trained across multiple areas.
  • Manage conduct and capability including performing investigations, following World of Books policies and procedures.
  • Attendance management including return to work interviews, well-being reviews, short-term absence, long-term absence, and AWOL procedures
  • Development of team through training, coaching, guidance, and mentoring
  • Carry out any ad-hoc duties required by the Operations Manager/Team Manager/Senior Team Leader
  • Demonstrate the Company values and behaviour

What You Will Bring To The Role
You will have excellent communication skills and be confident communicating with all different levels. You will be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team. You will demonstrate great leadership skills and be an effective decision maker.
You will have 1 years experience within a management role and have experience of resource planning. Ideally you will have an understanding of Warehouse Management systems, as well as E-commerce organisations.
