JOB TITLE: Technical Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Engineering
REPORTING TO: Chief Engineer
Founded in 1955, Piasecki Aircraft Corporation (PiAC) is a research and development business specializing in design, fabrication and flight testing of experimental rotorcraft and unmanned air vehicles. Piasecki has developed and flown more than 25 different advanced VTOL and UAV aircraft and continues to develop cutting-edge vertical flight technologies.
SUMMARY:
The Technical Assistant at Piasecki Aircraft Corporation is responsible for providing broad administrative support to the engineering department. This role involves planning engineering and research activities, developing and maintaining documentation standards, and interfacing with program managers and engineers to ensure efficient scheduling and program execution. This position requires a high degree of technical skill and proficiency with project management tools and software.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- Proficiency with MS Project, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Skilled in planning and organizing engineering and research activities.
- Strong understanding of document and CDRL development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Technical aptitude with a high degree of proficiency in administrative tasks.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS / CLEARANCES:
- Associate degree in engineering technology, project management, technical administration, or a related technical discipline preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the aerospace or defense industry.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and assist in the coordination engineering and research activities.
- Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance with documentation standards and CDRLs (Contract Data Requirements List).
- Utilize MS Project to manage and track project timelines and milestones.
- Provide administrative support to the engineering department, including scheduling, meeting coordination, and document management.
- Interface with program managers and engineers to facilitate planning and scheduling.
- Prepare and maintain technical documents, reports, and presentations using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Assist in the development and standardization of engineering processes and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the engineering department and company objectives.
