The Ecoforest Group was founded in 1959 by Jose Carlos Alonso; his vision was to develop innovative products that were both economic and environmentally-friendly, with the intention of making the world a better place.
In 1993, Ecoforest became the first European manufacturer of pellet hydro stoves, bringing to the market a new, ecological and cost-effective product. Ecoforest is the leading company in the industry, with the widest range of pellet stoves and boilers.
In 2012, Ecoforest developed another innovative technology, launching its first ground source heat pump to the market, being the only Spanish manufacturer of this product and the most specialised of inverter technology on the planet.
The research and development department of Ecoforest continues to innovate every day, in order to develop more advanced and more efficient products. Currently, Ecoforest products can be found in more than 30 countries around the world.
2021 sees the launch of Ecoforest UK. The sole purpose of Ecoforest UK is to provide technical excellence for the heat pump market in England, Wales, and Scotland. Our purpose built training centre is due to open in August this year, and will form the hub of our operations. We aim to provide the industry with the knowledge, experience, and support needed to flourish and diversify.
We aim to:
- nurture school leavers into becoming heat pump experts through apprenticeship schemes
- to cross train existing allied engineers and installers into this new way of thinking
- to educate and support consultants, architects, and the wider general public into our world of carbon reduction
- to help others reduce their environmental footprint, and
to support the global need for change
Our market has grown throughout the pandemic, we have been lucky, our industry is the fastest growing sector in the UK, and the British government expects this to continue, in fact they are banking on it.
We want like minded people to join us, we want passion, we want enthusiasm, we want geeks, we want individuals who want to enjoy their days work. Is this you?
It takes a special kind of person to excel in this role, you have to be practical and technical all at the same time, you have to be able to logically solve problems, to be able to see solutions inside your head, to absorb lots of information and adapt this information to suit the circumstances. Are you the type of person who can talk to someone over the phone and walk them through the menu structure of their mobile to change their ringtone, without having a phone in front of you? Can you delve inside a control panel and work out what all the wires do and at how it works? Can you look the plan of a building, or an engineering drawing, and work out what is going on, can you visualize what it is going to look like just from the drawings? These are the types of skills that our engineers have, these are what makes them superb engineers, and we need more.
Don’’t worry, you may not yet have all the knowledge and experience that we are looking for, but we can teach you what you need to know. We just need that basic inbuilt ability, that ‘way of thinking’, that natural flair.
The position of Technical Engineer is a varied role, including providing support over the telephone, on site, and through training. One day you could be taking a heat pump to bits to replace a part, the next day you could be commissioning a new system in a University, then the following day you could be helping an installer understand a schematic drawing. The job is predominantly Monday to Friday, 9.00 am till 5.00 pm, however we sometimes have to work earlier or later to solve a problem. It is rare that we need to work over a weekend, although we may take the odd phone call from an installer if they need help. It is normal for our engineers to work from home, work from the office, and work from site all in the same week. We sometimes have to stay away overnight, and occasionally we spend a few days in Europe for product training.
So take the first step in this exciting journey, and send us a CV with a covering letter explaining why YOU could be our next Ecoforest geek.
