Description:

Job Description
We invite you to bring your skills within safety engineering and quantitative risk assessments (QRA) and fire- and explosions risk assessments (FERA) into play as you contribute to safe and innovative design solutions in the forefront of the Green Energy transition. To succeed in this role you must have solid technical background within safety engineering and execution of QRAs/FERAs from the Energy sector. Are you our new Technical Safety Engineer with focus on QRA/FERA? Click the apply-button to send your application.
You will join our Technical Safety Department
As our new Senior QRA Engineer you will be part of a strong team of 20+ Safety Engineers. You will be working close together with colleagues in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, UK and India.
The team is a good mix of younger and more experienced colleagues. We are involved in interesting, challenging and varied projects to deliver in the near future within the Green Energy transition, including the transition to greener fuels such as hydrogen, methanol and ammonia.
The focus areas of the Safety Department are onshore and offshore facilities within Power-to-X/Waste-to-X technologies and Carbon Capture technologies as well as Offshore Wind. The projects are mostly situated in northern Europe, but also in other parts of the world. Through design, engineering and consultancy services we cover all safety aspects including concept and feasibility studies, detailed engineering, owners engineering and permitting.
Our core competences are: HSE management/risk management during the engineering stages of projects (process safety, technical safety and functional safety) and permitting stages with risk identification (HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA and Design Reviews), risk assessment (QRA/FERA) and risk treatment (ALARP).

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Perform, lead and coordinate work for quantitative risk assessments (QRA) and fire- and explosions risk assessments (FERA) using QRA software (PHAST/SAFETI)
  • Develop guidelines, tools and templates within the area of quantitative risk assessments (QRA) and fire- and explosions risk assessments (FERA)
  • Build-up capabilities and guidelines, tools and templates for dispersion modelling and fire/explosion modelling using commercial CFD-software (FLACS/InFlux) in context of quantitative risk assessments (QRA) and fire- and explosions risk assessments (FERA)
  • Prepare safety documentation during engineering of projects (process safety and technical safety)
  • Participate in safety workshops on projects (including HAZID, HAZOP and LOPA workshops)
  • Evaluate risk and risk reducing measures according to the ALARP principle on projects

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as Technical Safety Engineer from Energy sector
  • Have a good understanding of mathematical modelling of physical phenomena (e.g. fire and explosion scenarios) and frequency modelling (e.g. event-tree analysis)
  • Experience with performing, leading and coordinating work for quantitative risk assessments (QRA) and fire- and explosions risk assessments (FERA)
  • Experience with relevant QRA software (e.g. DNV PHAST/SAFETI, Shell FRED, or Gexcon Effects/Risk Curves)
  • Excellent English skill
