THE TEAM AND THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re looking for skilled and experienced Java Technical Support Leads to oversee the technical support operations related to Java based applications and systems. This role requires a hands-on leader who can managed a team of support engineers, provide expert-level troubleshooting, and ensure the smooth operation of mission-critical Java applications. SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in software development/ technical support.
  • 2+ years of experience leading or managing a technical support team.
  • Strong experience in Java development, including deep knowledge of Java frameworks (e.g. Spring, Hibernate).
  • Highly skilled in troubleshooting and debugging Java applications.
  • Understanding of RESTful APIS, databases (Oracle, Sql Server) and web technologies
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and scripting languages
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, GCP and AWS.
  • Experience with tools such as: GIT, Jira, Eclipse, Jenkins, Maven, Sonarcube, OpenGrok
  • Strong problem solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to handle high pressure and fast paced situations
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certification in Java
  • ITIL certification
  • Cloud certifications

Responsibilities:

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor and develop a team of technical support engineers.
  • Monitor live production systems, focusing on key service objectives.
  • Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for complex Java applications.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues related to Java code, performance and system integrations.
  • Collaborate with development teams to diagnose and resolve issues at code level.
  • Ensure timely and accurate resolution of incidents and service requests.
  • Participate in post-incident review and contribute to root cause analysis
  • Develop and implement support processes and best practices to improve team efficiency,
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated technical issues.
  • Liaise with development, QA and operations team to ensure seamless communication and resolution of issues.
  • Develop UNIX and SQL scripts to perform complex data clean-ups.
