VICE PRESIDENT, INTERNATIONAL COMMERCIAL LEAD

WHAT BASIC QUALIFICATIONS DO WE REQUIRE?

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including 8+ years of commercial experience in above country level in the pharmaceutical / biotech industry required
  • Demonstrated track record of team building, people leadership and development required

WHAT ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS ARE WE SEEKING?

  • Advanced degree, MBA, MD, PhD, PharmD preferred
  • Deep background in sales, commercial excellence, brand marketing, and new product planning preferred
  • Experience in hematology oncology, rare disease, or allergy/immunology a plus
  • Country Manager/General Manager experience considered a plus
  • Ability to recruit, inspire, and retain top biotechnology commercial talent
  • Executive presence with strong communication and presentation skills
  • Skilled at independently organizing project goals, completing long-term projects on time and within budget and fully integrating them into the work of other functions

Responsibilities:

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Blueprint Medicines is looking for our International Commercial Lead to join their team. This role will be a member of the International Leadership Team (ILT) and an integral leader at Blueprint Medicines. The International Commercial Lead will oversee Marketing, Commercial Operations, and the Commercial analytics functions. This role is accountable for executing ex-US commercial strategy for AYVAKYT (avapritinib) in systemic mastocytosis and GIST indications as well as future portfolio compounds. Strong partnership with International Head of Pricing and Market Access and International Head of Medical Affairs will be required, as well as effective collaboration Blueprint Medicines HQ and local operating clusters/countries (LOC).

WHAT WILL BE YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES?

  • Provide strategic input and foster alignment to overall business strategies as a member of International Leadership Team (ILT),
  • Drive team objective setting, prioritization and ensure adherence to plan and strategy
  • Lead coordination between International level Triad (Medical, Access, and Commercial) and with country level triads
  • Be a strong partner with Global HQ brand team to ensure alignment with brand strategy and messaging
  • Oversee regional tailoring of brand strategy, tactics, and messaging as warranted and ensure LOC alignment
  • Lead EU marketing and commercial operations, own international DM/MCM roadmap and roll-out, prepare EU tailored patient finding platform
  • Lead international forecasting and insight generation to understand market dynamics, particularly in relation to launch performance
  • Create a positive team environment that instills trust, encourages productive conflict, and ensures clear transparent communications to align around the overall commercial goals
  • Drive commercial risk management, issue identification and resolution and contingency planning Coordinate and consolidate pan-EU commercial considerations that have interdependencies for HQ workstreams
  • Oversee commercial considerations and resources for growing ex-US distributor network
  • Offer key contributions to launch planning and strategic brand plans for AYVAKYT
  • Set key performance indicators for launch and develop courses of action based on these metrics in addition to overseeing commercial team budget
  • Ensures that all commercial activities are in line with company policies, procedures and applicable local laws, regulations, and guidelines
  • Must be flexible to travel with EU and to Blueprint Medicines HQ
