VP, Director of Community Innovation and Philanthropy
Reports to: CHRO
Objectives of this Role
The VP, Director of Community Innovation and Philanthropy, is officed in Dellwood Missouri and oversees the overall direction and structure of the Rising Together Foundation and the Dellwood Innovation Center (Business Production Office). This position will be responsible for leading resource generation efforts, managing foundation activities, and driving the strategic initiatives of the Dellwood Innovation Center. The Executive Director will work closely with the CEO, foundation board members, community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of our mission and goals. This role will have a dual focus, both internal and external, with overall alignment to community development.
As the leader of the Dellwood Innovation Center, this role will drive initiatives that promote entrepreneurship, workforce development, and economic growth within Dellwood and the surrounding areas, including North and South. This includes creating and managing programs that provide resources, training, and support for local consumers, businesses and startups. The Director will also build and maintain partnerships with educational institutions, local government, and other community organizations to foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and development.

Essential Functions:Foundation Leadership:

  • Serve as Director of the Rising Together (MBC) Foundation, guiding the development of a plan to operationalize the initiative and create a subsidiary CDFI.
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for the Midwest BankCentre Foundation.
  • Develop and implement resource development strategies to secure financial support from individuals, corporations, and foundations, in collaboration with key ecosystem stakeholders, to support wealth creation and workforce development initiatives.
  • Manage relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders to enhance engagement and support.
  • Prepare and present reports to the CEO and board of directors on foundation activities and impact.

GENERAL MANAGEMENT:

  • Develop and manage annual budgets for the foundation and the innovation center (BPO).
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and best practices for nonprofit management.
  • Represent the foundation and innovation center at community events, public speaking engagements, and media appearances.
  • Actively partner in all communications with the CEO; being able to communicate wants, needs, concerns, ideas in an effective and efficient way.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, public administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and community development.
  • Develop and execute programs and initiatives that drive economic growth, entrepreneurship, and workforce development in Dellwood and surrounding areas.
  • Build partnerships with local businesses, educational institutions, and community organizations to support the center’s mission.
  • Oversee the operations, including budget management and program evaluation.
  • Ensure a process that can be duplicated in multiple markets successfully.
