OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fitter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience with various welding techniques and fabrication processes. This role is crucial in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards while adhering to safety protocols. The Welder/Fitter will work closely with blueprints and specifications to assemble and construct metal components, contributing to the overall success of our projects.

SUMMARY

Welds material in accordance with either blueprints or a specification sheet.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Previous welding experience. Sub arc welding experience an asset.
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
• Manual dexterity required for operating machinery.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.

• Welding
• Operating sub arc machine
• Gouges (prepares) material for welding.
• Selects proper welding wire.
• Confirms that weld complies with drawing.
• Operates overhead crane to place material in position to be welded.
• Completes daily job cards.
• Communicate with welders from other shifts.
• Clean and maintain work area.
• Other duties as assigned.
