Job Summary:
The Welding Engineer will play a critical role in developing and optimizing welding processes for Gotion’s 40GW battery cell facility. This position focuses on ensuring high-quality welds for battery components, such as cell casings and electrical connections, using advanced welding technologies. The ideal candidate will have expertise in both manual and robotic welding techniques to support large-scale production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and validate welding processes (e.g., laser welding, ultrasonic welding, resistance welding) for battery cell assembly.
  • Program and maintain robotic welding systems to achieve consistent quality and efficiency.
  • Conduct weld quality testing and analysis to meet stringent performance and safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot welding issues and implement process improvements to minimize defects.
  • Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure weldability of battery components.
  • Train technicians on welding procedures and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in welding engineering, ideally in electronics or battery manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with welding technologies (e.g., laser, MIG, TIG) and robotic welding systems.
  • Knowledge of metallurgy and material properties related to aluminum, copper, and steel.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with quality control tools (e.g., Six Sigma).
  • Familiarity with automotive or battery industry standards is preferred.

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $80k –$120k, plus eligibility for bonus and benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by factors such as the role, level, and geographic location.
