Description:
WELLNESS COACH
Seeking a part-time employee to join the CMHA Kelowna team at 12 hours a week with a work schedule of Monday and Wednesday, 8:30am-3pm or 9am-3:30pm. This position reports to the Team Lead Wellness Programs Team Lead.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Relevant post-secondary training such as a Human Service Worker or Mental Health Worker, Recreation Therapist, Psychosocial Rehabilitation Worker program, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience is considered an asset
- First-Aid & CPR Certification, non-violent crisis intervention, cultural competency and/or suicide intervention training is considered an asset
- Certified yoga instructor is considered an asset but not mandatory

Responsibilities:
- Implementation and delivery of programs and services to support participant’s mental, emotional and social well being
- Ability to research and design programs, including but not limited to, cognitive games and exercises, conversations and social activities, mindfulness and other therapeutic activities
- Ability to connect with participants, receive feedback and input to adjust programs according to their needs
- Liaise with other Wellness Coaches and WDC Team Lead to ensure all programs being offered in the WDC are effective and contributing to the betterment of the participants
- Provide a safe and welcoming environment for all WDC participants
