Rate of pay: $15.50/hr. - $15.70/hr
Shift: Full-time Non-Exempt Position
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for maintaining an accurate accounting system; collecting and posting child care payments and supporting an efficient flow of work in the School Age Program office in accordance with the general policies set forth by the YMCA.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Must be at least 18 years old. High School graduate or equivalent required. Degree in Accounting or Business preferred. General accounting experience desired. Must possess effective communication and organizational skills. Broad overview of the YMCA’s goals and purposes preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS OR EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:
Must possess the skills to operate standard office and computer equipment. Must have strong computer knowledge in the areas of word processing, database and spreadsheet software. Candidates must possess valid driver’s license and meet YMCA of the Suncoast driving criteria. CPR/AED and First Aid certifications and Get SMART preferred.
PHYSICAL AND/OR MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
May be required to sit for extended periods of time while demonstrating manual dexterity in order to accurately work on computer and other equipment. Receives and follows detailed instructions. Must possess customer service skills in terms of effective communication.
Responsibilities:
- Meet with Youth Development Directors as needed to go over accounts, make necessary corrections and ensure accuracy of the data. Some regional travel may be required.
- Collect payment for past due accounts, including balances of those who are no longer utilizing the program. Handle all calls from parents regarding their accounts.
- Print out all required reports for Youth Development Directors and Executive Director. Make changes as needed. (Payment rosters, attendances, balance sheets, etc.)
- Keep an accurate record of the month-to-month figures so that the Regional Director can be updated on any given day how we are financially for the month.
- Perform a checks and balance on the bank deposit.
- Charge all accounts weekly.
- Make corrections to attendance reports and accounts.
- Create a nurturing and safe environment by reporting suspicious activity that may lead to child abuse or may violate the code of conduct. Keep supplies organized, maintain and clean facility and care for equipment.
- Participate in activities with Annual Giving.
- Role model SMART behavior.
- Create a culture of volunteerism by educating members about volunteer opportunities.
