The Accounting Manager is responsible for owning all aspects of finance activities including financial reporting, cash management, budgeting, cost variance analysis, day-to-day operations, payroll and stakeholder relations.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Perform month-end and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
- Prepare annual budgets and perform cost variance analysis to budgets for management
- Manage cash forecasts and prepare cashflow reports
- Lead to complete annual audits and tax returns
- Calculate monthly inter-company charges
- Prepare and submit government filings including GST and PST
- Oversee AR/AP and supervise Accounting clerk for day-to-day operations
- Oversee payroll and timely submit payroll related filings including WCB, EHT, and T4
- Review and improve finance processes and policies as required
- Support preparing board meeting materials
- Perform other related duties in keeping with the purpose and accountabilities of the job
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA designation preferred
- 5+ years of related Accounting experience
- 3+ years in a leadership role
- Experience with SAP, Quickbooks, and/or Netsuite preferred, but not required
