Description:

The ANP role is an advanced nursing role in the field of cancer care and crosses professional boundaries undertaking traditional medical responsibilities. The primary purpose of the role is to help ensure the Haematology ANP team provide clinical excellence, 24 hours a day / 365 days a year, in the delivery of responsive holistic care to patients with haematological disorders including leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma, sickle cell disease whilst undergoing intensive treatments such as bone marrow transplantation and CAR-T cell therapies.
Working within local and nationally agreed protocols and guidelines, the ANP will exercise independent judgement to assess, investigate, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate the clinical care and management of cancer patients and ensure all team members can do the same. The ANP has a key working relationship with all members of the nursing and medical staff and members of the multidisciplinary team involved in cancer care.
The post holder will promote the concept of effective clinical governance and facilitate the implementation of the UCLH Nursing & Midwifery Strategy and work within agreed UCLH Foundation Trust/Unit protocols and guidelines.
