Our Infrastructure team have been helping the largest clients across Australia with their complex projects. We have a number of roles coming up for an Assistant Project Manager and Project Managers to work across a variety of different projects from aviation, rail, power and utilities.
Job Description

The main purpose of the Assistant Project Manager/Project Manager is to optimise project success by delivering against agreed project objectives. Our project managers see the value in agreeing from the outset ‘what good looks like’ and take pride in ensuring alignment to this as the project progresses. Some of the key specifications we attribute to the purpose include:

  • Taking responsibility for effectively and efficiently leading a project or suite of projects.
  • Employing proven project management experience to plan, monitor and document tasks throughout a project
  • Identifying and managing the resources necessary to support project execution, including leading and motivating people to ‘bring out the best in everyone’
  • Putting safety at the heart of project delivery. As the number one priority for our clients, safety in construction comes first, always.
  • Fostering a collaborative and communicative project culture.
  • Day-to-day management of projects through the complete life cycle, including successfully implementing from initiation through deployment and handover into operations.
  • Working and leading within a multi-disciplinary team of professionals to deliver targeted project outcomes
  • Proven ability to own and manage key functional aspects within the project, including: scope, risk, cost, schedule and quality.
  • Managing different forms of contract, including ensuring compliance with contract terms in delivery of the works for consultants and contractors, processing of payments, managing change.
  • Employ a sound understanding of procurement in projects, including contract drafting, tendering process preparations and management, bid analysis and contract award for both professional services and contractors.
  • Report preparation and communication of project progress to a range of stakeholders, including schedule/milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues, and promoting appropriate actions to improve project outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2-10 years working in a Project Management role
  • Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
  • Recognised Project Management Qualification is essential (e.g. AAPM, APM, PMI, PRINCE2, MSP) or equivalent
  • Experience working in the infrastructure and/or construction sector
  • Experience in Aviation, Rail, Power or Utilities is highly desirable
  • Sound understanding of engineering and design in delivery, as well as a solid understanding of safety practices in project delivery
  • Experience of managing multiple concurrent projects at various stages of delivery
  • Experience operating at various stages in the project lifecycle
  • Proven experience in contractor management
  • Contract administration and management
  • Strong stakeholder management skills including coordination and communication
  • Self-motivated team player with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands
