Aversan Inc. (www.aversan.com ) is a reputable Engineering Company that provides expertise in the Aerospace and Defense industry. We are currently seeking a qualified Avionics Systems Engineer for a full-time position for a client based in Mirabel Quebec
Open for Direct Placement or Independent consultants

Responsibilities:

  • The Senior Engineer, Avionics Systems, will be responsible for developing avionics and electrical solutions in response to the need to improve, expand or replace existing platform capabilities or systems, or for new developments, while complying with the certification standards in force for the various commercial programs.
  • The following skills are required for this position:
  • Analyze project, production and certification requirements and develop technical solutions for helicopter avionics and electrical systems by applying established standards or developing new concepts.
  • Develop concepts and put forward solutions beneficial to projects or to the smooth running of the group
  • Ability to lead/advise other engineers in the accomplishment of their tasks
  • Support the establishment and planning of development activities at all stages of a development program and assist in the creation of project estimates and schedules.
  • Good understanding of the various avionics and electrical systems on board an aircraft.
  • Ability to work and develop technical solutions alone and to share/coordinate with different teams.
  • Support system integration, including component selection, interface compatibility and drafting of electrical schematics, as well as identifying system installation requirements.
  • Write system test plans and procedures, analyze results and write qualification reports for functional and certification tests at component and aircraft level.
  • Draft analyses to support certification of installed or modified systems (electrical and thermal loads, support for safety analyses, EMC, etc.).
  • Support device testing and Systems Integration Laboratory (SIL) troubleshooting.
  • Support the generation of presentations to customers or suppliers such as Proposal, PDR, CDR,
  • Support initial device installations (FAI)
  • Review suppliers’ technical documentation.

Requirements:

  • 10-14 years’ relevant experience in aerospace.
  • Experience in avionics/electrical systems integration, development, testing and certification.
  • General knowledge of aeronautics and avionics systems (EFIS, FMS, Auto-pilot, COM/NAV, engine interface, etc.).
  • Knowledge of qualification standards (RTCA DO-160, DO-178, DO-254)
  • Knowledge of security assessment and system reliability (SAE ARP 4754A, ARP 4761)
  • Knowledge of FAR/AWM 27/527 and/or FAR/AWM 29/529 desirable
  • Good analytical skills and autonomous. Good communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written) and French (an asset).
  • Good work ethic and self-motivation.
