We are currently seeking an experienced bookkeeping manager to join their team in light of our continued success.

The Role This is a full function bookkeeping role where you will be required to undertake the following tasks:

  • Develop client relationships, answer more complicated management accounting questions, and give advice on compliance over the phone, email, and sometimes in person.
  • Review the bookkeeping work of the in-house bookkeeping team on a regular basis to ensure the highest quality
  • Review Activity Statement preparation by accounting staff
  • Provide training and mentorship to bookkeeping and junior accountants on management accounting methods where necessary
  • Provide Xero training to clients where requested
  • Provide relevant management reporting to select clients on an as needed basis
  • Take on difficult financial tasks or software functions, under direction from management
  • Support Accounting team across a variety of tasks when required
  • Help clients to create procedures that will result in accurate and effective bookkeeping services.
  • Assist the Senior Accountants in streamlining the financial processes for clients
  • Communicate with Senior Accountants about clients, including year-end adjustments and the tax treatment of transactions that may require their input
  • Offer bookkeeping services to current or enquiring clients
  • Stay up to date with best practice bookkeeping, industry changes
  • Preparing and lodging more complex quarterly BAS whilst liaising with Senior Accountant/Client Manager .
  • Administering and reviewing debtors, payments, credit card reconciliations, and highlighting any concerns requiring escalation.
  • Generating financial reports as well as preparing all relevant analytics for the owner as part of regular business updates.
  • Managing online banking.
  • Provide regular updates to client and Senior Accountant/Client Manager
  • Ensure that Activity Statement and Superannuation obligations of clients are met according to the standards of the firm
  • Participate in weekly regular workflow and team meetings

    About You

  • Strong background in bookkeeping and activity statement preparation

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Experience engaging with clients across a number of different queries
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Confident using Xero software as well as MS OfficeMust have full working rights in Australia, only Australian residents will be contacted.
