An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate Clinical Coding Trainer to join our clinical coding teams at Stockport and Tameside.
Having recently undergone a restructure within the teams, we have identified a need for a Trainer to work with our Clinical Coding Training Manager to provide, devise and deliver a comprehensive plan of training for our two teams of coders.
There will be a particular focus on the NCCQ, and supporting our trainees through the revision pathway to ensure that they have the skills and confidence to be successful.
We welcome innovation, challenge and new ideas, as we plan to grow and develop our services, with increasing collaboration between the two trusts.
If this sounds like you, please don’t hesitate to apply!
All applicants must hold Accredited Clinical Coder (ACC) status and have significant number of years post qualification experience of working in a clinical coding department.
For current NHS England Approved Clinical Coding Trainers – applicants with this certification will commence as a Band 6.
I f you are not NHS England qualified, you will be recruited into the post on Band 5 AFC with an upgrade to Band 6 upon successfully obtaining NHS England Approved Clinical Coding Trainer Status.

Assist the Clinical Coding Training Manager with the creation and review of all SOPs and plans relating to training within the team.
Identify to the clinical coding management team any audit needs arising as a result of clinical coding staff training.
To continue to improve the quality of coded data through delivery of coding awareness sessions to staff groups throughout the organisation; this will require a sound knowledge of HRG tariffs and Mortality indices.
To update personal copies of classifications and instruction manuals to reflect changes in national standards when notified by NHS England.
Provide appropriate clinical coder cover when required, in order to achieve coding deadlines.
Deputise for the Clinical Coding Training Manager, as required, in periods of absence.
