Walters is recruiting a Co-op student for Spring 2024 to assist in the Marketing Department, in the Walters Corporate Office. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited, to the following:

Primary Responsibilities:
- Support with day-to-day copywriting assignments across digital, email, social media, editorial, etc.
- Work collaboratively with the marketing and communications manager, current employees and their departments, and external partners to develop communications and to deliver consistent messaging both externally and internally that support the strategic plan.
- Support the implementation of initiatives.
- Assist with managing the timelines and approvals processes required for a variety of communications related projects.
- Provide edits on copy.
- Assists with campaign-related development - social media and traditional media.
- Basic editing for graphics and images.
- Assists with developing social media content and posting content to the marketing social media accounts.
- Creates and supports corporate social media accounts as required.
- Using appropriate tools, moderates’ interactions with the public and ensure social media policies and procedures are respected.
- Assists with updating information on the company websites, ensures that all information follows standards, and identifies new and innovative web and digital solutions to the marketing manager.
- Works with programs across the organization to ensure that content is up-to-date, relevant and updated in a timely manner and refreshed continuously.
- Optimize photographs for social media, corporate documents, and online imagery. Ensures that all imagery has all relevant consents.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently enrolled in a Marketing or Communications related program.
- Capable and able to quickly learn and adopt new social technology and processes.
- A team player who can work in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.
- Able to quickly identify new trends in social and promptly learn, adopt, develop and turn around content.
- Dependable, reliable with a strong work ethic
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Flexibility in switching between duties and assignments as per requirements.
- Strong entrepreneurial spirit with time management skills and the ability to organize and own their day.
