REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Completed University degree in communications, public relations and/or marketing or relevant practical experience combined with other certifications or a collegiate degree.

    Experience:

  • Minimum 5 to 7 years working in a communication, public relations and/or marketing function in a medium to large sized company.

  • Proven knowledge of marketing and communications best practices and ethics.
  • Very good organizational and time management skills to adhere to strict deadlines and compliance aspects with governments or other public governing bodies.
  • Working proficiency in various forms of technology tools related for this role, such as but not limited to: Adobe CC Software (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.), Microsoft Office, Social Media Scheduling Tools (Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Brandwatch, etc.), SharePoint Online, Yammer, Sitecore, Optimizely.
  • Strong verbal and written communications, in both English, French. Spanish language skills will be considered an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and as an individual contributor within the team.
  • Effective and assertive public speaker.
  • Available for usual business travel within Canada and the US.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Implementation of approved communications action items, which does include the project management of compliance with the Quebec Government (OQLF).
  • Writing content to support communications & marketing efforts such as but not limited to the organization’s website, blogs, social media posts, newsletters, press release and well for the intranet and other internal applicable platforms.
  • Analysis of data and results of communication goals and objectives.
  • Participation in activities pertaining to recommending ways to improve our visibility and perception of the organization in the public domain.
  • Ensuring all marketing and promotional materials align with company strategies and the organization’s brand.
  • Remaining up to date on relevant industry trends and ability to plan and lead various types of promotional or public events.
  • Establishing strategic partnerships with influencers and/or key stakeholders at press or public events to increase our visibility and brand.
  • Coordination of meetings, activities to prepare and press of public events as needed.
  • Experience in regional tradeshow planning, coordination, and execution.
  • Graphic design skills and experience would be a plus.
