THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking 1 qualified Core Logging Geologist to work with our Lalor Mine Geology team in the vibrant community of Snow Lake, MB. This is a term position until December. The schedule is 7 days on, 7 days off. Camp accommodations are provided while on shift. Please note that this opportunity is NOT a fly-in-fly-out position.
The successful candidates will provide geological services (core logging) to the Lalor Mine’s operations for the proper execution of the mining plan.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Follow departmental safety program and maintain safety standards
• Geological logging and sampling of diamond drill core
• Liaising with Diamond drilling Contractor supervision
• Collect geological data for the purpose of ore interpretation and reserve and resource calculations.
• Communicate changes in ore interpretation to geology department.
• Carry out specific accountabilities as assigned by the Senior Mine Geologist.
• Frequent lifting up to 34 kg to waist is required

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor of Science degree in Geological Sciences or Geological Engineering
• Geologist in Training (GIT) or Engineer in Training (EIT)
• Experienced with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
• Familiar with MineSight, Deswik, Leapfrog or AcQuire is an asset but not required
• Previous core logging and underground experience is an asset but not required
