CLIENT BACKGROUND & POSITION OVERVIEW
Our client is global Chinese company leader in information and communications technology, but not only.
Their Power Conversion Technology Laboratory within their Nuremberg Research Center is responsible for Advanced Digital Power Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning, and plays an important role in the design and development of power converters and control systems for applications such as PV Solar & Battery Energy Storage Field, Data Centers, Electric Vehicle, and Embedded Power Supply.
REQUIREMENTS
- Masters degree or above in mechanical Engineering or other related fields.
- Min 8 years of experience in designing, analysing and optimizing arc-related parts such as arc-extinguishing systems and conductive circuits of low-voltage switch products, as well as improving the arc-extinguishing performance of products to meet application requirements.
- Min 8 years of experience in design and testing of circuit breakers, experience in DC breakers is a strong plus.
- Experience in building test set-ups to test different breaker concepts.
- Experience in research, development and application of key technologies and devices in this field.
- Solid basic knowledge of mechanics.
- Good teamwork spirit, strong learning ability and English communication and writing skills.
Responsibilities:
- Design arc quenching chambers and contact systems, perform multibody simulations and develop the CAD drawings to be able to interrupt fault currents fast for different voltage and current ratings
- Design, simulate, and manufacture the actuator needed to drive a contact system.
- Explore the arc mechanism, overcome technical barriers such as zero flashover, zero breakdown, and zero emission under high voltage and large short-circuit current, and provide key arc extinguishing solutions for new power distribution devices used in digital energy scenarios.
- Propose innovative technical solutions to speed up the arc interruption process and successfully interrupt DC fault currents in a fast and reliable manner.
- Discuss with suppliers and manage the fabrication process of the parts needed to assemble the breaker.
- Identify necessary standards and perform the tests needed to qualify the prototype and bring the idea to the market
- Write technical reports, patents and publications
- Continuous research on the field and attend relevant conferences to stay up to date
