JOB DESCRIPTION:

Sun Life has established a new 3 year roadmap for data governance / information management risk.
The Director, Data Governance Risk will provide 2nd line oversight of Sun Life’s data governance / information management risk practices. In collaboration with our business risk and technology partners, the incumbent will be responsible for leading and overseeing the maturity assessment, development and implementation of the data governance / information management risk policy.

Responsibilities:

  • Mature Information Management (IM) Risk Policy and enterprise operating guidelines
  • Develop and conduct data governance / IM maturity assessments in partnership with 1st Line SMEs
  • Partner with BG Risk teams to develop local Operating Guidelines or transition plans to meet Enterprise requirements
  • Function as 2nd Line SME for Data Management and Records Management best practices to support the following:
  • Provide tools and guidance to Business Group Risk teams for assessing compliance with policy
  • Providing guidance to Business Group Risk teams on assessing IM Risk through Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSAs)
  • Challenging and overseeing the development of Enterprise Key Risk Indicators
  • Providing guidance and independent opinion to Sun Life technology teams of data management and records management best practices
  • Quarterly, assessing data governance / information management risk for the enterprise

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
