Opportunity
Normet, a leading global company specializing in mining and tunneling equipment, is seeking a skilled and talented Electrical Engineer to join our team on a full-time permanent basis. As our Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting Normet to produce high-quality engineering designs, documents, and machine modifications, while also contributing to the development of service kits and customer manuals, in compliance with Australian standards, industrial guidelines, and legal requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the team to specify, design, document, purchase parts/components and manufacture modifications to equipment.
  • Generate Bill of Material (BOM) in engineering database (Sovelia) based on Activity Plan for each machine build.
  • Research and develop Service kits, produce design drawings, and develop critical parts list in conjunction with Normet International’s engineering department.
  • Verify the development of user manuals and guides to support Normets equipment and aftermarket product offerings.
  • Develop specifications and instructions for assembly and maintenance of aftermarket modifications to Normet equipment.
  • Research and develop manuals/critical parts lists in conjunction with NOY Engineering group.
  • Preparation and modification of machine trouble shooting guides, tear downs, re-assembly manuals and service tools and kits.
  • Assist the team to design documents, purchase parts & components and manufacture modifications to equipment specifications.
  • Identify errors, omissions and other deficiencies within user manuals and recommend revisions and/or improvements.
  • Directing, reviewing, and approving product design and enhancements ensuring compliance with Australian standards, industrial guidelines, and legal requirements.
  • Efficient user drafting software such as: AutoCAD, Inventor, ERP, Sovelia, CRM or LinkOne.

What you will need to succeed

  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • 5+ years’ experience as an Electrical Engineer
  • Fundamental understanding of electric machines, batteries, and energy systems
  • Understanding and knowledge of design and implementation of high-power electrical power systems including the creation and documenting of schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Experienced in design of mechanical devices, components and equipment for electric mobile vehicles used in mining and/or defence industries
  • Flexibility to do site work (12-hour shifts on occasions) and to travel and work interstate when required
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High-level organisation and planning skills with excellent problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Full working rights in Australia.

The successful candidate must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment medical and obtain a National Police Clearance.
