Description:
If you have a background in finance and strong communication skills, Robert Half may have the Financial Analyst role for you. An exciting utility company with plenty of room for growth is looking a qualified applicant to join their team. Duties include conducting financial modeling on various financial products as well as measuring, analyzing, and forecasting performance in conjunction with operating plans, advising management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives, and preparing reports for management. This Financial Analyst role is located in the Fort Erie, Ontario, and it is a permanent employment opportunity offering hybrid work options. If you’re experienced in budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, and full cycle accounting you may qualify for this key business partner role on an dynamic team.
How you will make an impact
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners in Accounting and Operations to ensure plans are executed properly
- Explain and understand internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending
- Work with the Accounting team on monthly and quarterly financial close processes
- Keep tabs on monthly and quarterly performance through the comparison of actuals versus expectations, ensuring that business partners handle their resources
- Prepare and manage the budgeting process for the group of companies
- The ideal candidate should be a highly flexible individual who is adept at managing expectations and comfortable with handling large amounts of information
- Prepare pension filings to Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario.
- Propel monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions necessary
- Coordinate and facilitate the Executive Budget Presentations.
- CPA designation or close to completion.
- Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
- Skills in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly desired (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
- Strong excel and ERP system experience
- Ability to recognize, evaluate, and resolve problems effectively
- 3+ years of experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
- Budgeting and forecasting experience required
- Foundational knowledge in Full Cycle Accounting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Financial analysis & planning (go-to-market experience preferable)
