As a part of Vestas Power Solutions, the Product Solutions & Integration (PS&I) organization is responsible for designing the product architecture and product roadmaps in response to market roadmap requirements, translating product architecture and roadmap into module requirements, and full Value Chain Integration.
Loads & Control (LaC) being part of PS&I, is responsible for designing and optimizing Vestas’ products for optimal performance, loads and control strategies together with cross-product design work. The department consists of highly skilled, international, and well-experienced engineers located across Portugal, Denmark, and India.
In LaC Modelling you will be taking full responsibility for developing design basis methods and simulation models for loads and power predictions which are efficient, scalable and with an adequate physical representation of Vestas WTG and Plant products. We have a sophisticated modelling environment that is closely interfaced with loads and control processes and activities and plays a vital role in overall product development and other value chain activities, as Vestas heavily relies on these to make critical business and product design decisions.
Your team owns the responsibility of design-based methods and simulation development to the right fidelity and intended use. Being a member of the LaC management team, you will report to the VP of Loads & Control.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • MSc. or PhD in Aerospace, Wind Energy, Computer Science, or related Engineering fields.
  • Proven experience with leading development teams in an engineering environment
  • Ensure the team’s activities comply with relevant industry standards and regulations
  • Previous experience in modelling & validation methodologies applied in the context of wind energy aerodynamics, aeroelasticity & structural dynamics is ideal.
  • Previous experience in the implementation of machine learning techniques in physical systems simulation is ideal.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide and oversee the development team of Loads & Control & Software engineers developing, validating, and integrating new simulation methods into production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure modelling and simulation activities align with organizational goals
  • Ensure high-quality delivery leading wind industry best practices, on schedule and within budget.
  • Act as the primary point of contact with internal and external stakeholders within LaC simulation methods and modelling.
