Description:
An established and forward-thinking player within the telecommunications sector, this Sydney-based organisation is renowned for its innovative approach to delivering data and voice network solutions. With a keen focus on expanding their core network platforms, they are on the lookout for a dynamic Head of Engineering to lead their team. The drive behind this hiring initiative is to further elevate the company’s infrastructure and service delivery, ensuring they continue to exceed customer expectations while maintaining cost-efficiency.
DESIRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, IT, Telecommunications, Electrical, or Electronics.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in Network Engineering within Telecommunications, IT, or a similar industry.
- Proven leadership skills with at least 2 years managing engineering teams.
- Expertise in Unified Communications as a Service, Hosted Telephony, SIP Trunking, and familiarity with Broadsoft platform technology.
- Knowledge of MPLS IPVPN, IP Networking, and Broadband Access technologies, with a preference for experience with Juniper or Cisco routing technologies.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges and a genuine passion for technology and telecommunications.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the architecture, growth, and management of core data and voice network platforms using both internal and external resources.
- Implement architectural and design improvements across the network, enhancing processes, procedures, service, and infrastructure.
- Engage in strategic planning to ensure the network’s capacity to deliver exceptional products and services, optimizing spend through just-in-time methodologies.
- Conduct product engineering testing and documentation in line with the product development process, ensuring projects meet scheduled, budget, and scope expectations.
- Lead network lifecycle management to standardize network design and improve customer service delivery, driving cost reductions and maintaining SLA compliance.
- Manage relationships with vendors, other operations team managers, and stakeholders, aiming to reduce costs and improve services.
- Lead and develop a team of six, fostering a culture of high performance, engagement, and continuous professional growth.
