THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY IS AFTER A STAR HSE TECHNICIAN! RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BALLARAT SITES DEVELOPMENT, MANAGEMENT AND EXECUTION OF HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE PROGRAMS.

As the HSE Technician you will become an integral link between factory associates and factory management to foster a culture where safety, health & environment is paramount, and delivering site-based plans in a collaborative way. Reporting into the HSE Manager, you will work alongside your HSE colleagues demonstrating your capability in confidently coaching, leading and adhering to required standards and continuously improving the safety performance & culture.

WHAT WILL BE YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES?

  • Drive and participate in projects aimed at lowering risks associated with Health & Safety
  • Ensure the Ballarat site maintains continuous ‘audit ready’ state of compliance with company, insurance and governmental HSE Standards
  • Responsible for the development and deployment of all Company HSE Standards as they specifically apply to the site
  • Maintain the onsite environmental manuals and update these according to Mars standard and schedule
  • Ensure compliance for the management of hazardous materials and wastes in accordance with DG regulations
  • Deliver consistent training and coaching to establish clear understanding by all site associates on HSE expectations
  • Use a data driven approach to manage, modify and prioritise site HSE direction. Share and utilise this data to influence, motivate, measure and drive continuous improvement across the Ballarat site
  • Develop, deliver and participate in risk reduction reviews of process hazards and combustible dusts.
  • Lead site efforts to measure and improve Industrial Hygiene Risk in conjunction with Health Services. Including (but not limited to) ergonomics, respirable dust, noise and chemical exposure.
