Description:

Maple Lodge Farms is Canada’s largest independently owned poultry processor. It engages in processing and supplying chicken products in Canada and internationally. It offers bacons, deli chicken meats, sliced packaged meats, fresh seasoned chicken, frozen boxed meats, and wieners. Maple Lodge Farms, Ltd. was founded in 1955 and is based in Brampton, Ontario, Canada.
Responsible for day-to-day operations of employee & labour relations including CBA administration, grievance administration, performance management, employment legislation and investigations. This role is onsite.

REQUIREMENTS

In the 1830s, the May family began raising chickens on a farm outside what is now Brampton, Ontario. They became a pillar of the community, and their proud tradition of hard work, agricultural wisdom, and humble family values inspire and guide us to this day

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the key point of contact in supporting employees and managers in the areas of employee relations, performance management, compensation/benefits, and other employment-related issues.
  • First point of contact in regard to all Union/Collective Agreement issues, including resolution of Step 1 grievances.
  • Responsible for the administration of the Collective Agreement and provide guidance to Management/Production on the interpretation of the Collective Agreement.
  • Assists with employee incidents, discipline, and terminations. Prepares/assists in the distribution of related documentation in consultation with Operations team.
  • Coaches and provides an outlet to all level of employees with work related and/or personal concerns.
  • Provides training, and on-going coaching/feedback as necessary to management and employees on all relevant areas of development.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • Conducts employee exit interviews, identifying trends and providing recommendations for effective change.
  • Responds to inquiries from employees and managers in a timely manner that represents a high degree of customer service.
  • Responsible for updating the grievance report and provide metrics
  • Receives and investigates all employee and labour relations complaints, including workplace violence and harassment, CBA/ESA violations and human rights complaints. Prepares a report with findings and recommendations.
  • Participates in and coordinates labour relations related procedures such as grievance meetings, arbitrations, and mediations.
  • Works with the Senior Manager of Claims & Return to Work, on certain cases of occupational and non- occupational injuries/illnesses.
