Description:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years applicable experience preferably in the engineering or consulting industry
  • Profound knowledge of employment standards, HR policies and procedures, benefit programs, and employee relations
  • Strong business acumen with continuous improvement mindset and in-depth understanding of changing business environment and requirements
  • Excellent communication and people skills with the ability to establish trust, influence, build relationships with people of diverse disciplines, levels, backgrounds, and cultures
  • Proven ability to analyze data, resolve issues, exercise professional judgment, and recommend sustainable solutions
  • Advanced skills in using HR/Payroll software and key office applications and tools
  • Exemplary professional with utmost ethics, integrity, and confidentiality
  • Team player with a positive attitude and tenacity to get the job done and make changes
  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Human Resources or a related field is preferred
  • A Certified Professional Human Recourses (CPHR) designation is an asset

Responsibilities:

ROLE

The HR Generalist plays an integral role within the Corporate Services team responsible for leading the ongoing development of corporate culture, policies, and HR practises in alignment with organizational strategy to achieve business goals.
Primary responsibilities are to provide front line support across the entire organization; develop and reinforce corporate policies, procedures, and measures; embrace entrepreneurial corporate culture; communicate effectively to deliver concise information and solutions in a diplomatic and professional manner to all stakeholders.
This role is required to treat all Human Resources, payroll, and benefit information with the strictest confidentiality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with management to continuously improve corporate policies, guidelines, and procedures in line with employment standards, legislation and industry best practices
  • Strengthen people practices and implement measures to sustain human resources while embracing corporate culture and values
  • Optimize talent management through effective planning and carrying out programs for recruitment, compensation and benefits, recognition and rewards, performance management, professional development, and succession
  • Conduct HR activities and tasks, such as on-boarding, performance reviews, compensation adjustments, benefits enrollment, etc. for employees throughout the employee life cycle
  • Provide direct support to all staff on interpretation and operational application of HR policies and procedures
  • Manage employee records, including electronic or manual files, in strictest confidentiality
  • Respond professionally and timely to HR inquiries in a confidential manner
  • Foster employee engagement and relations, proactively diagnose, investigate, and provide integrated solutions to resolve human resources issue that mitigate risk
  • Provide analysis, advice and guidance on organization design, organizational and team effectiveness, and workforce planning
  • Facilitate corporate leaning and training programs and strategic conversations to all employee and/or focus groups
  • Collaborate with Corporate Services members, assist in performing corporate initiatives, and contribute to a team environment that values equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • Work closely with the Health & Safety Committee to ensure compliance with health and safety standards and maintain a positive and healthy working environment
  • Develop and facilitate change efforts and communications related to business initiatives and/or HR programs
  • Liaise with external HR or legal consultants, government bodies, and labor authorities when required
  • Provide assistance to management when required
