Description:

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

We are looking for an Instrumentation Technician (UAE Nationals) who will be responsible for a broad spectrum of tasks related to the installation, repair, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems on machinery, equipment, and fixtures to ensure their efficient operation with minimal downtime while upholding EHS guidelines and focusing on continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree or Diploma in a relevant field.
  • Completion of PEC Craft Training.
  • 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in a smelter environment or heavy industrial setup
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Familiarity with maintenance tools and basic computer knowledge.
  • Exposure to installation, troubleshooting, and Instrument Calibration.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings/manuals/instructions.
  • Knowledgeable in the maintenance and troubleshooting of PLC Control systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend to all instrument & control equipment breakdowns and perform planned/preventive/predictive maintenance work with minimal supervision, ensuring timely completion to minimize production downtime.
  • Assess the technical requirements of assigned jobs and select necessary tools and equipment accordingly.
  • Diagnose instrument & control breakdowns/failures and troubleshoot plant and equipment failures effectively with minimal direction.
  • Complete all maintenance work in accordance with safety procedures, maintenance plans, and plant operational requirements.
  • Achieve equipment calibrations as per the schedule and business requirements.
  • Utilize the computerized maintenance system (SAP) to order necessary spare parts from the warehouse and maintain records of completed maintenance work.
  • Monitor recurring breakdowns and recommend proper modifications to resolve issues, completing required modifications as necessary.
  • Provide guidance to newly joined instrument mechanics to familiarize them with the plant and share necessary knowledge for effective maintenance work.
  • Contribute to improving EHS and Plant & Equipment Performance by participating in Business Excellence activities such as Suggestion Scheme, 5S, Hazard Reporting, TAMAHAL, RCFA, Kaizen, etc.
  • Identify and report any abnormalities, initiating repair/replacement of worn-out or failed components/parts, and ensuring the work area is left clean.
  • Assist other departments in repairing and troubleshooting failed equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as communicated by the supervisor/technician.
