Description:

To work within the radiology directorate as the Radiology Quality Lead. To be responsible to the Professional lead and Lead consultant ensuring that governance processes are adhered to. To promote an open and honest culture and be an advocate for our patients and staff.
To comply with trust policies and procedures. To work autonomously and as part of a wider team.
To support the Professional Lead in attaining QSI accreditation for Radiology.
Act as the risk lead to identify, monitor and support risk issues within the Radiology department ensuring a risk aware workforce. Promote and encourage risk reporting and risk and safety awareness across the area.
To provide administrative support to the department’s clinical governance group.
Attend trust wide governance, safety and risk meetings as required.
To be involved in Radiology audit .
To investigate incidents.
Ensure the Radiology Service complies with the duty of candour responsibilities.
Work closely with the Lead Radiation Protection Supervisor in the investigation of all radiation incidents ensuring incidents reportable to the CQC are reported in a timely manner.
To ensure that outcomes and lessons learned are disseminated across the radiology department.
Provide advice support and leadership to all staff within the Radiology department with regard to Risk Management and Clinical Governance issues.
To develop plans for the safety and quality improvement programme to achieve QSI accreditation.
Assist with the development of relevant departmental policies.
To provide training, support and advice on quality issues, patient safety, clinical governance and risk management to all staff.
Responsible for providing feedback/training individually or in groups to staff following investigations to ensure individual learning.
