ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Manager of Residential Aged Care Rostering holds a critical position within our organisation, entrusted with the centralisation of our residential aged care rostering that ensures the seamless delivery of high-quality care to our elderly residents. By optimising scheduling, enhancing customer service, and promoting effective communication among employees, the Manager of Residential Aged Care Rostering plays a vital role in upholding our commitment to exceptional care and the well-being of our residents.
The primary purpose of the Manager of Residential Aged Care Rostering is to lead daily rostering operations that create a harmonious and efficient care environment within our residential aged care facilities. This includes optimising workforce utilisation, fostering customer service excellence, and championing communication among our dedicated team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Spearhead the transition to a centralised rostering model, establishing consistent and efficient scheduling practices across Baptcare.
Create and disseminate comprehensive rostering guidelines and procedures, ensuring uniform adherence.
Continually refine and innovate rostering methods to enhance staff productivity and resident care.
Collaborate closely with Residential Care and Services managers, staff, and residents to understand and meet their rostering needs promptly and effectively.
Act as a proactive problem solver, addressing rostering-related issues swiftly and effectively to demonstrate our unwavering commitment to customer service.
Cultivate a culture of open and effective communication among employees, ensuring that information flows smoothly and that the team operates cohesively.
Facilitate regular meetings, feedback channels, and knowledge-sharing practices to strengthen team bonds and mutual understanding.
Oversee the complete rostering process, from scheduling shifts to managing leave requests, all while optimising staffing levels.
Leverage advanced scheduling software and tools to streamline the rostering process while maintaining strict compliance with relevant regulations.
Monitor that each residential aged care facility consistently achieves Baptcare’s target minutes of care per resident per day.
Manage and optimise care labour costs to ensure they align with the budget while maintaining high-quality care services.
Set and monitor targets for agency staff utilisation to minimise agency costs.
Monitor and manage overtime hours, striving to keep them within defined limits to control labour expenses.
Implement strategies to enhance labour utilisation efficiency, such as cross-training, flexible shift allocation, or innovative rostering practices.
Measure and report on the improved efficiency in labour utilisation over time.
Analyse and optimise staff allocation based on resident care needs, minimising idle time, and ensuring appropriate staff levels during peak demand.
Track data and trends impacting on the reliability of resources to assist to inform future demand planning and staffing requirements
