Description:

ABOUT YOU

You’ll have experience of:
Performing studies, equipment selection reviews, specification, technical bid evaluations and package management of equipment packages in an EPC environment or client role.
Specifying mechanical package equipment alongside evaluating, selecting, and procuring replacement and/or upgrades to equipment.
Equipment vendor co-ordinating and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT’s) along with an understanding of quality control requirements in line with the inspection and test plan.
Coordinating and controlling vendor document submissions and reviews.
Generating calculations against design code and best practice.
Producing mechanical equipment purchase specifications.
Participation in safety studies such as HAZOP, HAZID and design safety reviews would be advantageous.
Producing mechanical equipment datasheets.
The offshore and onshore oil & gas business but similar transferrable industries skills will be also considered in leu of specific oil & gas experience.

Qualifications
BSc or equivalent in relevant Engineering Discipline
Chartered Engineer status preferred
Significant, demonstrable experience in Detailed Design Engineering and Engineering Checking
Detailed understanding of all Engineering disciplines
Knowledge and understanding of relevant Oil & Gas Industry Codes and Standards
Understand the application of Autodesk Design products
Competent in the use of MS Office applications
Offshore BOSIET & MIST and medical are preferred for the role with experience of site surveys for condition assessments, commissioning assistance or dimensional and utility interface reviews

Working Pattern: Permanent / Full Time
As the Mechanical Engineer, you will:
Have knowledge of static, package or rotating equipment – experience is essential and to be demonstrable. Typical equipment to be experienced within the role include; pumps, heat exchangers, power generation, gas compression, vessels, tanks, chemical injection, pig traps, cranes, mechanical handling equipment and process conditioning packages
Be technically competent in own discipline and actively maintain own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development.
Possess the understanding and ability to interpret system Process and Instrument Diagrams, fabrication drawings and schematics.
Be experienced in producing and checking deliverables that conform to all applicable industry engineering codes and standards as well as the client’s policies and procedures relative to the equipment being specified. Sound knowledge of relevant commonly used codes therefore required.
Liaise closely with other disciplines to ensure all equipment requirements are addressed in the design, specification of equipment, construction sequencing and commissioning.
