Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) Air Dominance Division is seeking Senior Structural Analysis Engineer for Phantom Works advanced aircraft development programs located in Hazelwood, MO.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 10 or more years of experience working with Finite Element Models (FEM) and tools (NASTRAN/PATRAN)
  • 10 or more years of experience working with design or analysis of metallic and composite structure
  • 10 or more years of experience with aerospace stress analysis and/or structural analysis

TYPICAL EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years’ related work experience, Master+12 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and organize structural analysis work at the program level to assure total compliance with structural integrity and stability requirements
  • Develops, integrates and documents complex or unique structural requirements to establish the system design
  • Coordinate with other engineering groups to establish the product’s environment
  • Guide product design and verifies structural integrity by defining requirements for development of analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance of the product
  • Work with customers and regulatory agencies to define certification processes that will ensure requirements are met
  • Review and approve certification results
  • Develop test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
  • Define and organize test programs to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied
  • Develop analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort
  • Investigate emerging technologies to develop future product designs to meet projected requirements. Works under consultative direction
  • Travel may be required up to 10% of the time
