PRINCIPAL DATA ANALYTICS ENGINEER (LEAD) -M365 FASTTRACK

We are looking for a Principal Data Analytics Professional that shares the inherent passion to help our customers and partners realize the expected cloud value and helping customers ultimately transform their business with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft’s cloud.
As a Principal Data Analytics Engineer (Lead) -M365 FastTracl, you will apply in-depth knowledge of the business, its data landscape, and the lineage of those data to proactively identify opportunities to explore and address business questions across multiple areas, ensuring alignment with FastTrack strategic goals. Your expertise will be crucial in articulating business value and impact across multiple FastTrack initiatives. In your role, you will understand and anticipates both business and data requirements, identifies how to optimally integrate data, evaluates analytic techniques and assumptions, and determines follow-up actions to share insights that drive decision-making to address specific business needs.

REQUIRED/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 7+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis
  • OR Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 5+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ Experience with or exposure to Agile and iterative development processes

ADDITIONAL OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Collaboration and relationship management skills for making change happen in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Hands-on experience in Data Analytics products, e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Data Analysis Expressions (DAX), and Power Query.
  • Designing and building solutions using technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Data Bricks, Azure Synapse, Stream Analytics, Machine Learning.
  • Knowledge of Cognitive Services, Azure Cognitive Search and Azure Open AI or equivalent experience.
    Data Analytics IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $124,800 - $242,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $159,000 - $264,000 per year.

Responsibilities:

  • Your responsibilities include presentations of analytic results that explain the story behind the results via data visualizations, slides, and talking points that focus audiences on relevant insights, their business implications, and any limitations associated with the findings.
  • You will collaborate with all FastTrack functions, product engineering, and cross-organizational stakeholders (Insights, Data Engineering & Analytics- IDEAs, Field, and Finance) to ensure data quality, appropriate use of tools and processes, leverage others’ data and/or models, and to drive the adoption of more efficient features, processes, and/or reporting tools across teams.
  • You will work collaborate with Data Engineering teams to build needed data pipelines or integrations to address business needs and close data gaps and leverage relevant data and frameworks from other teams or organizations.
  • Determine the scope of business and data requirements, source and integrate relevant data, develop appropriate data frames and analytical solutions, build and leverage connections across business areas, and articulate connections between business topics, relevant data, and/or analytical frameworks.
  • Commits to a customer- and/or stakeholder-oriented focus by acknowledging needs and perspectives, validating, and advising requirements, focusing on broader context, and serving as a trusted advisor.
  • Leads discussions to interpret analytical results, develops insights, and articulate pragmatic recommendations that are feasible and account for potential data limitations.
  • Expert in data sources and data quality issues, and shares expertise to reinforce best practices and guide others.
  • Interpret and shares insights, analytical expertise, and relevant data-driven results through various means, including dashboards, reports, data visualizations, self-service platforms, slides, internal forums, ad-hoc inquiries, and talking points that synthesize and simplify the most relevant findings and insights to tell a story that influences senior stakeholders’ decision making and drives business outcomes.
  • Consults and provides recommendations for the ideal factors to include in formal experimentation or the development of prototypes/proofs of concepts that are likely to yield the most reliable assessment of impact.
  • Drives the implementation of methods that create efficiency in core work related to analytics and reporting that are reusable, readily discoverable, self-service, and directed to meaningful interpretation of data that drive business decisions across teams.
  • Leads efforts to automate of patterns of ad-hoc analyses into regular reporting features and shares critical domain expertise to create clarity, ensure readiness to appropriately consume and leverage data and/or insights, and share thought leadership related to developing and implementing automated methods for use in data collection, reporting, and analysis.
  • Proactively manages actions across their network of peers to leverage data, resources, and solutions that were instrumental to success in similar contexts, and shares expertise across teams to inform decisions related to data sourcing, analyses, and the interpretation of analytical results.
  • Consistently aware of changes to, and maintain expertise in data privacy requirements, responsible and ethical data handling practices, and that classification and governance rules and regulations are consistently applied in work activities and results.
  • Exemplifies and enforces team standards related to bias, privacy, and ethics, guides others to uphold and apply updated data privacy and governance through processes such as Corporate, Executive, and Legal Affairs (CELA) reviews.
