Are you passionate about ensuring the highest levels of product reliability and performance? Teradyne is seeking a talented and experienced Reliability Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Reliability Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the robustness and dependability of our cutting-edge products. You will apply your expertise in reliability engineering principles and methodologies to drive product excellence from conception through production.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

BSEE or BSME with 5 years or more reliability engineering experience with electromechanical assemblies and systems. An MS in Reliability Engineering or MS in Mechanical Engineering and experience in Automated Test Equipment design (ATE) a plus. Job requires 10% travel.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience building finite element models in Mechanical Ansys
  • Experience with Design FMEA
  • Experience with Design for Reliability (DFR) guidelines
  • Hands-on experience with Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT)
  • Experience in component derating and application
  • Experience with reliability goal setting and reliability modeling (MTBF)
  • Experience in environmental stress testing and failure analysis to root cause
  • Experience with statistical methods for accelerated life testing
  • Experience with design redundancy and fault tolerancing
  • Experience with predictive and preventative maintenance
  • Experience in designing test fixtures and developing test procedures
  • Working knowledge of test equipment and instrumentation (i.e. oscilloscopes, DMM’s, Spectrum analyzers and generators, etc) and a demonstrated ability to set-up tests and write test report.
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Statistical Software packages, reliability analysis software (Weibull++, BlockSim, Alta preferred and Ansys Sherlock)
  • Good verbal, written and persuasion skills
  • High energy individual with good presentation and training skills

Responsibilities:

Provide reliability guidance and apply Teradyne’s design for reliability process through all phases of product development. Create finite element models for long term solder joint reliability analysis based on physics of failure models. Proven ability to plan, implement and lead Highly Accelerated Life test (HALT), write test reports, lead Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), perform reliability goal setting, estimating, and reliability risk mitigation. Develop test protocols and perform accelerated life testing, environmental stress testing and analyze data for life modeling. Assist in component selection and use for improved product reliability. Evaluate and qualify new technologies for reliability.
