Responsibilities:

  • Possesses the overall responsibility of the management of Remote Sensing and UAS department. Provide oversight and direction to a staff of employees and the UAS programs for all SCE operating units. Responsible for the development of strategic and tactical planning for Remote Sensing and UAS programs for SCE.
  • Leads the design of new policies, standards, processes, or operational plans based on business strategy with a significant impact on functional results. Approves tasks necessary for successful project execution. Establishes project objectives, timelines, risk analysis, goals, deliverables, and budgets. Assigns responsibilities, tasks, deliverables, and project timelines to subordinate employees.
  • Interacts regularly with and acts as a key consultant to senior management to establish short-term and long-term company-wide objectives with corresponding implementation plans. Works with individual Organizational Units (“OU”) to ensure their plans are incorporated and align with overall company direction.
  • Accomplishes results through a staff of high-level professionals with expertise in aviation, LiDAR, electro optical camera operations and other sensor technologies on airborne platforms. Develops departmental budgets for procurement of advanced technological sensing equipment. Develops the UAS budget for all SCE operating units using UAS. Establishes and manages execution of the maintenance programs for sensing equipment and UAS.
  • Represents the Company to outside agencies and regulators and serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), and consultant to executive management and OUs. Expectation in the role will require knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Routinely exercises judgment and discretion to advise and recommend courses of action, which have a major Corporate or business unit impact. Makes decisions on strategy and implementation at a business unit and company-wide level
