Restaurant Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of a restaurant, bar, cafeteria or other food or beverage service
• Determine type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures
• Recruit staff and oversee staff training
• Set staff work schedules and monitor staff performance
• Control inventory, monitor revenues and modify procedures and prices
• Resolve customer complaints and ensure health and safety regulations are followed
• Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies
• Negotiate arrangements with clients for catering or use of facilities for banquets or receptions

REQUIREMENTS:

• Education: Completion of a college or other program related to hospitality or food and beverage service management is usually required.
• Experience: Responsible beverage service certification required
• Several years of experience in the food service sector, including supervisory experience, are required.
• Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Tight deadlines, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling
• Personal suitability: Reliability, Organized, Team player, Dependability
• Work Site Environment: Outdoors, Indoors
• Language: Advanced level of English is required

REQUIREMENTS

• Several years of experience in food service sector, including supervisory experience, are required.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
• Completion of a college or other program related to hospitality or food and beverage service management is usually required.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team effectively
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
• Keen eye for detail, innovative and interested in creating a 5-star experience
