Description:

This position will require travel to the following areas: Rocky Mount, South Boston, Winston-Salem, Raleigh
The Retail Operations Manager will provide operational leadership by ensuring the operational health, safety and soundness of assigned branches. This will include assisting with complex operational issues and concerns, implementation and execution of the Branch Risk and Controls Inspections, creation and monitoring of remediation plans and oversight over operational KRIs and Metrics.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide personable and professional operational leadership support in assigned branches
  • Complete branch risk and controls inspections by analyzing available data, observing branch activities, reviewing branch documentation and interrupting all information to create a risk and controls assessment
  • Create and manage risk and controls remediation plans to improve operational safety and soundness for assigned branches
  • Observe and coach branch teammates to ensure branch operational integrity, knowledge, and adherence
  • Partner with assigned Regional Retail Banking Executive and Market Managers to elevate areas of concern, ensure transparency with issues or concerns and ensure and present action plan for success
  • Create and deliver Operations Training for new branch leaders in assigned regions
  • Assist branches with complex questions requiring review, research and in depth knowledge of branch procedure with the ability to interrupt intricate issues and provide a decision or recommendation on how to proceed
  • Leverage retail banking knowledge and expertise to investigate issues efficiently with appropriate rational and critical thinking skills
  • Support branches needs during times of uncertainty, high teammate and customer impact situations such as offline issues and events, emergencies, robberies and other escalated events with a calm and efficient manner designed to deescalate and guide the teammates successfully through the event
  • Communicate and elevate areas of opportunity to Retail Ops Team Leadership for improvement
  • Create detailed and specific incident recaps for high impact events impacting retail branches
  • Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations governing bank operations, including compliance with Atlantic Union Bankshares’ BSA/AML Policy and Procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • Five years retail banking experience required
  • Three years leadership and coaching experience required
  • Previous experience with multi-site leadership preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

  • Ability to use knowledge of retail operations, banking regulations and risk methodology to drive operational health and stability
  • Strong problem solving and decision making abilities; able to think analytically

Salary offered will be based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. This position is also eligible to participate in either an applicable incentive compensation plan for the position or a discretionary profit sharing bonus program.
