Description:

We are currently seeking a band 7 nurse in safeguarding. The candidate needs to have experience in safeguarding in any health setting as we believe skills are transferable but acute experience would be good.
This role enables the successful candidate to gain clinical expertise relating to safeguarding children and young people. You will cover all 5 sites, triage under 18s attendances to unscheduled care, liaise and information share with external agencies, e.g. health visitors, school nurses, social workers, integrated gang unit workers, social workers, Redthread etc., ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children, deliver training of staff as well as safeguarding supervsion, advocate for children in a variety of safeguarding meetings and work collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team. You will be supported and mentored by the safeguarding team, named nurses and consultant nurse.
The Safeguarding team consists of a Named Nurse, Consultant Nurse, Named Midwife, Named Doctor, Safeguarding midwives, Clinical Nurse Specialists for children and adults, learning disability staff and administrators.
The team work a 7 day service so weekend working would be part of the hours of working for the role.
As a clinical expert, to lead the operational delivery & support the strategic delivery of safeguarding practice across the Trust in accordance with national, regional and local legislation, policies and recommendations, ensuring that holistic care is provided to children and their families by a well trained and proactive workforce, ensuring that the Trust Safeguarding vision is achieve
To provide visible, effective leadership and expertise across the Trust, working closely with the clinical staff and external agencies to ensure children & unborns are safeguarde
To support the Head of Safeguarding and Named Nurse, to ensure the implementation of current safeguarding legislation and guidelines for children and young people across ICH
To work in partnership with a wide range of agencies to achieve the highest standards of car
To undertake research and audit in relation to safeguarding children and young people in order to gain new information and to inform future practice
