The EMEA Commissioning & Start-up (CSU) team is responsible for safe commissioning and start-up of our projects in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Our team is looking for an experienced Senior Completions Engineer, who will manage a small team of completion engineers, and who is responsible for the handover/turnover process and completions systems in our projects, by using dedicated software packages such as Hexagon Smart Completions and Go Completions HUB2.
The position reports to the EMEA CSU manager and will be based in The Hague. The job may include temporary assignments at project locations in Europe and possibly the Middle East.

General Responsibilities

• As senior completions engineer for the EMEA region, you are responsible to implement the handover/turnover process and completions tools in our projects through all phases: design, construction, commissioning, start-up and stable operation. This includes the development of project-specific handover procedures from construction until operation, and the specification of completions tools in our subcontracts.
• You will manage a small team of staff members and contractors who will be assigned to individual projects to manage the Completions and Handover process
• You will contribute to the development and application of AP’s completions software in cooperation with AP’s global commissioning community and software providers.
• You will contribute to development and improvement of the catalogue of Inspection Test Records (ITRs), which define the inspection points per type of equipment through the project phases. You will do this in close collaboration with our engineering community.

Project Specific Responsibilities

• During the Engineering phase, you will work with the Commissioning Engineers to define the Commissioning Systems and Sub-systems on P&ID’s, Single Line Diagrams, plot plans, DCS Architecture and cable schedule. You will coordinate the creation of the project-specific completions database, and confirm that all equipment is assigned to the correct Inspection Test records.
• During the Construction & CSU phase, you will ensure that the project follows the system-based handover process, and will use the Completions Management System throughout the project phases.
• You will ensure that the completions engineers on the project will use the completions systems and report completion progress using dashboards and Qlik Sense technology.
• You will manage access control to the Completions Management software and arrange user training.

Required Experience & Skills

• At least 5 years’ hands-on experience as Handover/Turnover/Completion engineer in industrial projects, including system-based handover and utilizing Completions software during construction, commissioning and start-up.
• Experience with Smart Completions and Go Completions software, including population of the tag database and assigning ITR’s in the project tag database.
• Experience in definition of commissioning systems on P&ID level
• Good understanding of the QA/QC and inspection requirements in the chemical/oil & gas industry. Progress reporting skills.
• Experience with project site work, safe working practices and compliance to HSE rules
• Mobile and flexible to work on temporary assignments and regular business trips inside and outside the Netherlands
• Bachelor engineer or experienced technician in at least one of the following disciplines: process engineering, rotating machinery, instrumentation or process control
• Experience in working in multi-disciplinary, international project teams
