Senior Electrification Engineer

DUTIES: BorgWarner PDS (USA) Inc. seeks a Sr. Electrification Engineer based out of our office at 3800 Automation Avenue, Auburn Hills, MI 48326. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address. This position does not require travel.
Job Duties: work with a cross-disciplinary and cross-functional teams to develop requirements, definitions, and algorithms for Electrified Powertrain. Act as the Function Owner for Electrified Powertrain Diagnostic & Control modules, leveraging requirements and testing experience. For the owned Monitor, design and develop Diagnostic & Control Algorithms, perform data acquisition on benches/vehicles, analysis of data, and apply data analysis results back into the module for algorithm improvement, robustness, & calibration. Apply Electrified Powertrain knowledge to accelerate the development of algorithms, while bringing out-of-box thinking to the team. Work with the project team to meet delivery schedules. Interface and coordinate with Software, Systems and IT&V engineering to support development and debugging for the owned modules. Participate in design reviews with internal cross-functional engineering group, suppliers, and customers.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Power Electronics, Electronic, Electrical, Computer or Automotive Engineering, or Physics and 36 months of experience in the job offered or related position with vehicle embedded systems and functions. Experience must include: two years of experience working with vehicle embedded systems and functions; and experience with instrumentation, data acquisition and calibration tools like ETAS-INCA; experience in automotive software development for both design and verification/validation activities; experience working with OBD II regulations; experience with CAN communication protocols.
