Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team delivering a multi-million-pound pathology transformation programme in the Kent and Medway Pathology Network. The Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) project is a £23 million project being implemented over 3 years, and your role will be key in delivering transformation in pathology services using the LIMS as a digital enabler.
As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing a range of aspects of the delivery of the LIMS project. You will be responsible for multi-tasking across the complex workstreams within the project and managing full lifecycle activities to ensure the project is delivered to the highest standard and is within project timescale and budget, providing excellent outcomes for staff and service users and contributing to the overall success of the Programme.
KMPN is therefore seeking a successful and confident project manager who has significant previous experience in managing complex projects implementing change and IT solutions across services and teams within the NHS. Experience of pathology systems would be preferred. Reporting to the LIMS Project Director, the post holder will be supported by the Business Change Manager, Change Analysts and PMO to be able to meet tight project delivery timelines while utilising industry standard knowledge of project methodology and approaches including Prince2 to lead and deliver on all projects.
Proactively lead and manage workstreams within the LIMS project throughout its full lifecycle for the Kent and Medway Pathology Network (KMPN).
Ensure that the project receives full attention and is delivered on time, within budget, to the required quality level and is within agreed project tolerances and scope
To lead assigned project teams in all aspects of their responsibilities and project deliverables, ensuring staff are fully supported in order to execute their roles and responsibilities
Responsible for the leadership, support and matrix management of part of the project team, supporting project staff and sharing knowledge with the wider team including other project managers where appropriate
Produce, deliver and communicate complex and sensitive project documentation ranging from business cases, briefing documents, network information and requests for funding. This will include the production and management of financial data for programme reporting to be included where appropriate
Manage the budget for the project, where appropriate, and ensure the budget is agreed, tracked, monitored and spent effectively, and any Network savings requirements are delivered by maximising efficiency
Proactively monitor, manage and analyse activities, information or situations which involve the highly complex integration factors, and develop the necessary flexible solutions to meet the challenging tasks set by the KMPN requirements and deadlines.
