Your Role:
Are you passionate about streamlining software development processes and eager to make a significant impact in the cloud-based telecom services sector? emnify is seeking a talented Software Platform Engineer to set up excellent development experience.
As a part of the larger Engineering department, our Platform team plays a crucial role in enhancing our competitive edge by increasing development efficiency and scaling productivity. You will join a team of 3 engineers, fostering empathy and a collaboration mindset to ensure continuous improvement of development experience at emnify.
Our tech stack includes the following: Linux, Jenkins, Opsgenie, Grafana, AWS CloudWatch, AWS Services (EC2, ECS, EKS, WAF, API Gateway, ELB, X-Ray, Direct Connect), Java, Golang, Python, JavaScript, RDBMS (AWS Aurora, AWS RDS, MySQL), No-SQL databases, search engines (AWs OpenSearch), Kubernetes (including relevant operational tooling), Docker, eBPF.
The position can be based in emnify’s office either in Berlin or in Würzburg or remote in Germany.

Your Impact:

  • Partnering with engineering and information security teams to embed and standardize security best practices in the software development lifecycle
  • Conducting research, adoption, and improvement projects for development tools and overseeing upgrade and maintenance projects on shared infrastructure
  • Enabling and coaching junior talent within your team and mentoring engineers in other teams
  • Actively using metrics data to foster prioritization of engineering needs
  • Building and maintaining platform components, including development pipelines, shared infrastructure, and application services

Your Skills:

  • Familiarity with development portal tools, event-driven architectures, and Apache Kafka for modern, scalable software solutions
  • Expertise in High Availability, Disaster Recovery, and managing High-Load systems for robust infrastructure development
  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking with a passion for enhancing development experiences in fast-paced tech environments
  • Advanced documentation skills for effective knowledge sharing and collaboration
  • Strong foundation in secure software development and knowledge of network protocols and authentication for secure applications
