Description:
Our client is a major utilities provider seeking a Senior Category Manager to join the project and delivery team. This role offers an opportunity to strategise and develop procurement processes across the construction services category in alignment with business goals and project delivery. The successful candidate will have the chance to contribute to the development and implementation of category management plans and strategies, ensuring infrastructure projects are delivered.
What you’ll do:
- Develop and implement robust sourcing and category strategies based on market research, intel and stakeholder requirements
- Monitor spend and develop strategies to minimise uncontrolled spend
- Evaluate supply alternatives through various procurement methods
- Develop and execute negotiation strategies on complex supply arrangements
- Provide market and competitor analysis, insights, implications, and recommendations
- Identify and manage commercial, contractual, operational, and ethical risks
- Measure supplier performance over the contract lifecycle
- Develop collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
What you bring:
- Commercial acumen, analytical mindset, ability to think strategically
- Ability to work under pressure, set priorities, manage competing deadlines
- Attention to detail with ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Experience in Facilities Management Services category
- Qualifications in relevant discipline or significant experience in procurement
- Strong background in strategic procurement, sourcing, category management
- Advanced negotiation skills with strong stakeholder engagement skills
- Exceptional communication skills with proven experience in implementing robust category plans
