Description:
SENIOR TECHNICAL DESIGNER
Job Type: Permanent Full-Time
Salary: $65,000-80,000 + bonus
At Earthscape, we create beautiful, innovative custom playground sculptures and structures that inspire children and adults to creatively play. By partnering with some of the most prestigious Landscape Architecture firms in North America, we bring brilliant playground concepts to life. Our award-winning design-build firm is located just outside of Elmira, Ontario in Waterloo Region.
Together, our ambitious team designs, engineers, builds and installs state-of-the-art timber playgrounds that become iconic and well-loved destination spaces. The work environment we’ve created is positive, productive, fun and rewarding. To see our one-of-a-kind projects, visit www.earthscapeplay.com (http://www.earthscapeplay.com/).
Currently, we are looking for a Playground Technical Designer to join our growing team. The role of this team member is best suited to someone with experience in custom design and manufacturing and/or new product development, who is able to produce technical content for downstream production. It is best suited to someone who is comfortable working outside the box; our playgrounds don’t fit within regular building code categories.
Your job will be to produce fabrication drawings and installation instructions for our engineering and fabrication crews, conduct product revisions and contribute to design optimizations, update standard details, and support continuous improvement projects. You will brainstorm ideas, analyze, test, document, and present your work by collaborating with a diverse group of colleagues. Ultimately, you will strive toward developing new skills within all areas of playground design and construction.
