Description:

  • You are collaborative and enjoy solving analytical problems to help our team to reach highest potential
  • We are a team of big thinkers who are engineering the future of banking
  • Together we will build tomorrow’s bank today, using world-leading technology and innovation
    Do work that matters
Bankwest has a rich heritage. We’re proud to be part of the fabric of Western Australia with a strong culture built on local support. We’ve always been innovative, evolving over time to look after a growing regional market and seeking out new customers. With the support of a strong partner in CBA, we share a belief in the value of our brand, our potential for growth and a big aspirational Vision.
We’re building tomorrow’s bank today, which means we need creative and diverse engineers to help us redefine what customers expect from a bank. Envisioning new technologies that are still waiting to be invented and reimagining products that support our customers and help build Australia’s future economy.
    See yourself in our team
Bankwest’s Technology Division develops and executes all technical change within the organisation ensuring the leverage of technology to deliver the Bankwest strategy. The Division works on a wide variety of technologies and projects with the support of a dedicated team in an Agile methodology. Our team is responsible for the world-leading application of technology and operations across every aspect of the bank – from product platforms for our customers, to essential tools within our business.
You’ll be part of Product and Digital Services team which looks after the core of our lending origination platform. Our focus is on people who either own a home or aspire to own a home. We are looking for engineers who want to bring an amazing customer experience to those people, and we have the team and backing to make it a reality. We want to remove friction from the home owning journey, and we believe your creativity and innovation can make it happen. With a focus on the Home Buying customer journey, you’ll be embedded into a cross functional squad that is self-managing with end-to-end responsibility.
As a Senior Test Engineer, you will be responsible in building test automation framework and delivering business outcomes. You will be embedded into a squad – a cross functional team that is self-managing with end-to-end responsibility for designing, delivering, and optimising a specific customer-focused outcome. You will bring your expertise and creative thinking to deliver software, solve customer and business problems and optimise our systems.

We’re interested in hearing from people who:

  • Have deep understanding of quality attributes in SDLC and quality practices
  • Will be the squad’s “Quality Advocate,” encouraging a critical thinking mindset and drive prevention of defects over detection of defects
  • Are familiar with modern software engineering methodologies (Design Thinking, Agile, Lean, DevOps, Continuous Delivery, UX)
  • Contributes to the design, implementation and maintain automated test assets ensuring the desired level of quality and test coverage
  • Provide technical feedback, guidance and mentoring to Quality Engineers, to support their career progression and technical capability uplift

Tech Skills:

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these will set you up for success in this team:

  • Expertise with Automation Testing tools - Playwright, TOSCA, Selenium, SahiPro, JMeter, Devtest, Soap UI, and Postman
  • Solid hands on experience with C#, Java, Javascript
  • Understanding of API and Web services (REST/SOAP/XML) and ability to build and maintain API integration tests
  • Experience in using versioning software (BitBucket or GitHub) and Git flow
  • Familiar with CI/CD tools like TeamCity, Jenkins.
